The Season
Between l' enfant, writing ADR on a new sixty-two episode classic Anime series, having the metaphorical dust blown off of an old feature project and thrust into preproduction, and a rewrite on a more recent feature... the headlong plunge toward the holidays has been particularly harried this year.
I'll take the time to expand on all of the above here in the near future. I promise. But until then, Happy Holidays to you and yours.

In the category of sounding really cool, Guy Maddin's latest film "My Manitoba" (voted best cdn film at TIFF) is getting a special screening on Feb 5 during the WSO new music festival. It will be shown at the Walker/Burton with Isabella Rossellini on stage to narrate, live foley artists for the sound effects, and the WSO performing the score. This should be very interesting, even if the movie sucks (not likely). If I can find a sitter that day I will be there.
Hope you had a good stay in 'Toba, it sounds like your family was the only one in the province that wasn't full of sick people.

Sounds very cool, indeed. Although when striving for maximum coolness points, a guy should try to get his references right. But yeah, having the chance to see Maddin's latest film, 'My Winnipeg', (splitting hairs, really) under those circumstances is enviable. Find a sitter.
And while our extended family wasn't sick whilst we were in MB, the three of us managed to come down with something, making our flight home and reintegration into post-holiday life less than idyllic.
But enough whinging. Happy New Year, and all that.
