Stills

Bevan recently sent me a couple of stills from the set of our latest project, reTired, so I thought I'd share.

Here we have our protagonist, Doug, blissfully unaware that one of the 200-plus phone calls he receives before five o'clock will irrevocably alter the course of his life.

Production stills are shot by an on-set photographer to approximate the key images from the film for the promotional materials, press releases, festival submissions and whatnot. And since I couldn't visit the set due to an eleventh-hour shooting reschedule, this is the first look I've had, too.

The Manitoba Arts Council has given us the money to blow reTired up to a 35mm print, (which is what you see when you go to the movies), so it should look absolutely gorgeous up on the screen when it hits the festival circuit in the Fall. And we may even have attracted an amazingly talented singer/songwriter to score the film, but I've promised to keep that news under my hat until contracts are signed and agents have been placated. All in all, I'd say this little film is shaping up remarkably well.

Oh, dear. How did it ever come to this?
